Mostafa Darehbaghi started his professional career sixteen years ago not only as an artist, but also as an explorer of perspective and visual innovation using variety of skills and diverse set of materials. Mostafa’s work signature is to combine a series of geometric rhythmic patterns with figurative subjects to create a unique abstract atmosphere evident throughout his artwork. He expresses his view towards the figurative style of his art by, “I express the manner of conduct of humans through the use of resembling figures and elements, which creates great enthusiasm for me.” Throughout his career, he has experienced and mastered many fields of media. He has used this experience in his modern works that resemble conceptual and minimalist art. “I use the interconnection of the manner between objects and nature, and the influence they have on me.”

Mostafa work has been exhibited all the world in 28 solo exposition and more than 80 group shows in countries including USA, Sweden, Belgium, Croatia, India, UAE, Iran and others. Mostafa started his American art career with a group of exhibitions in Columbia University of New York in 1991 in which he introduced his unique abstract style to the American viewer for the first time. Later in addition to New York, he expanded his exhibitions throughout the US including Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, Texas, Vermont , and Washington DC. Mostafa has received many awards including first place prize in The Tehran Biennale in 2001 and 2003. Mostafa was born in 1966 in Tehran, Iran and attained academic art studies in Visual Art School in Tehran and learned modern art in Azad University of Tehran.
